I just found out about your site on Facebook. I think your "string ring" is a great idea! I also think the random acts of kindness on your birthday is great! My birthday is 8/1. I don't think I can end up figuring out enough things corresponding to my age this quickly since I just found out about it, but I'm going to do as many things as I can & then plan better for next year.
Anyway, thanks so much for your great ideas & site! I'll share it on my blog later today when I post too!

My son's birthday is August 1 too. We are working on 13 not-so-random acts of kindness today in honor of his 13 years to be celebrated this Saturday/Sunday. 13 is much easier than the 44 years I just turned! I'm considering it a good warm-up for my birthday next year.

Cool - I'll be 35, so I have a bunch to do if I want to do all of the years too! I'm thinking of starting this with both my daughters next year. Both their birthdays have passed this year, but I think it's such a cool idea & gets them thinking of something other than, "What am I going to get for my birthday?" or "oh, I want that and that and that for my birthday." This way they can think of things other than themselves!

I tried to talk my son into asking his friends to perform one random act of kindness in lieu of getting him a gift and he wasn't too keen on that idea. LOL. He is kind... but spoiled and wants gifts at his party!
