Take the 2010 Earth Day Footprint quiz

Relative to other households in the U.S., I thought we were living a comparatively eco-friendly lifestyle. We recycle, use energy-efficient light bulbs, drive less than 50 miles a week, and are always looking for ways to cut back on waste. But, alas, after I took the Earth Day Footprint quiz I realized we were not doing enough diminish our carbon footprint.

In honor of Earth Day 2010, take the Earth Day Footprint quiz to see the impact you have on the planet. It quickly calculates how much of our resources your household consumes compared to the rest of the planet. Then you'll find new ways to reduce your footprint. Make sure you take those actions this Thursday, April 22, a day we put our attention on Mother Earth. I've decided to cut back on animal based products, get off junk mail list, and stop bagging our lawn trimmings. I know this is small, but if we all become just a little more conscious of our individual impact and make just a few changes, we'll make a huge difference.

If each of us would only sweep our own doorstep, the whole world would be clean. ~ Mother Teresa
