Cameron Stewart and Acts of Random Kindness Wins!

For those who loved the Hugs for the Homeless Video I have an update.

Cameron won the Start Your Own Business competition (I hope you voted!) hosted by Fit Business and Ireland AM. This was a competition allowing one start-up a chance to win funding for their business. It began with hundreds of competitors and was honed down to 5 finalist who were instructed to make a short video illustrating their business idea. Then viewers voted on-line for their favorites.

If you haven't heard about ARK, it is a clothing line that encourages you to commit one act of random kindness every time you wear the shirt. These are high quality, fashionable t-shirts that you're going to love not only because they are adorable, but for the larger message they send. In Cameron's own words, "Instead of wearing clothing to look like your someone great, wear clothing to do something great."

I'm so thrilled this young man of 19 and his business won. Knowing that often the act of simply acknowledging a homeless person lifts up their spirit is something many people don't realize. This gesture reminds them they too are one of us. The great thing about this video is not just that these boys raised money to help this man, but the loving way they collected the money was just as heartwarming as the fact that they joined him in eating a warm meal.
