Keeping the Memory Alive

This past week, I read a couple of stories about family members continuing their deceased loved ones legacy of kindness. Coping with grief that comes when a dear one dies seems unbearable. But these two families began the process of healing with organizations created to remember the kind hearts of those they have lost.
Drew Stevens lost his 12-year-old son, Josh, in a tragic golf cart accident in 2008. He honors him today by launching the Be Kind movement aimed at school age children as a tribute to his son who was known for his kindness. The movement works with schools to create activities and reward those they "catch" being kind.
Do Some Good is a Facebook page set up by Nicholas Goers to memorialize his father by simply posting volunteer opportunities in his Minnesota community. The logo was designed to look similar to a monogram using the initials of Nick’s father.
Goers - I am challenging everyone to simply - Do Some Good! I'm taking the "pay-it-forward" concept to the next level and we ALL need to climb on board. Each and every day there are organizations in and around your community that could always use support from the communities in which they serve. It's not always about money though, sometimes simply giving your time is more than enough and very much appreciated
If a legacy is something that continues to exists after one dies, what people remember about you, then I can't think of a sweeter footprint to leave than one of kindness. What a lovely way to honor someone's passing through this life.
